The cuts and selections of fabrics for this collection was inspired by the style and ways of living that reflects their attitudes, habits, tastes, moral standards, socio-economic level, values etc, a reflection of the past, present or future cultures of these people. The collection sports slightly thick and heavy cotton brocade which was hand tied and dyed by some local Guinean artisans based in Ghana to the very soft and flowy silk and cotton fabrics, fleece, spandex, synthetic fur material and leather. This is to show the swings between the diverse ways of clothing and styling amongst the different people in the world, not forgetting my signature material, JUTE which really defines my aesthetic. I have always wanted the chance to promote locally and ethically handmade fabrics, so I used this opportunity to introduce my first locally handmade tie and dye fabric, championing more indigenous fabric with very little use of exotic fabrics this season.
